Electric Companies Executives all over the globe are rubbing their hands together for this Christmas period. This time of year the electric usage of the average house goes wild as we turn on more light bulbs each evening than are held in a light bulb factory.
Each night, we turn on enough Christmas Lights and decorations in our homes than are really needed, turning our living rooms into smaller versions of the sun (that big orange glowing thing in the sky during the daytime). This over indulgence means the average electricity usage goes up.
This over indulgence in our electricity usage means that for this period of the year the average electricity bill shoots jumps on a rocket and goes into orbit. This extra spending brings happiness to the aforementioned executives, making them VERY VERY happy.
When TDF talked to one of the Executives at one of the UK’s biggest global electricity supplier they told us “Its the cost of the Gerbil food. We need to feed them more so they can run faster and longer in their little wheels; therefore creating the extra electricity needed!“.
